The Mongolian Cooperative Training and Information Center is an independent, non-governmental organization created to support the economic development of Mongolia by promoting and strengthening the country’s cooperative movement. Established in 1998, MCTIC assists cooperatives by organizing short term trainings nationwide on topics relevant to management, marketing, and finance.

The Youth Cooperative Club was established by the Mongolian Cooperative Training and Information Center. Opening activity of the club was conducted during the Small and Medium Enterprises-Cooperative Trade Fair on 8th
May 2010. The mission of the YCC is to prepare Mongolians future generation of leaders in the cooperative movement.

The aim of the International Day of Cooperatives declared by the United Nations in 1995 is to increase awareness on cooperatives, highlight the complementarily of the goals and objectives of the United Nations and the international co-operative movement and, underscore the contribution of
the movement to the resolution of the major problems addressed by the United Nations. The International Day also aims to to strengthen and extend partnerships between the international cooperative movement and other actors, including governments, at local, national and international levels.
United Nations Declares 2012 International Year of Cooperatives

NEW YORK, 21 December (Department of Economic and Social Affairs) -- The United Nations
General Assembly has declared 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives,
highlighting the contribution of cooperatives to socio-economic development. In
adopting resolution 64/136 on 18 December, the Assembly noted that cooperatives
impact poverty reduction, employment generation and social integration.
